FNB REFUSING TO RELEASE FUNDS

Transaction missing on my bank statement. A very strange thing and no one seems to know what's going on. I'm still trying to get my car hire deposit paid back into my account. I have the merchant receipt and cancelation letter send to FNB but they refuse to release the funds cause there are no transactions reflecting on 5bat particular day. What bul**** is this
