FNB REFUSES TO CLOSE TRANSACTIONAL ACCOUNT

Ive been a client with FNB for nearly a decade. I approached the branch to close my Cheque account because Ive had too many issues with FNB the past 2 years and their bank fees are too high. The consultant tells me that I cant close the account because I still have a revolving loan with FNB and that I need to settle the loan before I can close the account. Ive never missed a payment and I don't have R 10 000 to settle it now. What ******* is that? Ive never heard of a bank forcing a client to keep paying for a transactional account that they no longer want. IM FURIOUS THAT IM BEING FORCED TO KEEP AN ACCOUNT THAT I WILL NOT USE. Its ridiculous. FNB is *****ing my hard earned money. They refuse to even downgrade the account and I was not told that the account has to remain active for the duration of the loan. Yet another reason I'm glad to be switching to a different bank. Be warned, do not take loans with FNB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THEY ARE ******!
