FNB refusal to investigate and stop ********** debit orders on cheque account
<p> During June 2016 I advised FNB that Cell C was putting ********** debit orders through on my cheque account. Their response "</p> <p>Unfortunately we are not able to help you with the debit order that has gone off your account. We are not party to the agreement between you and the entity originating the debit order and you must cancel the debit order authority directly with this entity. You can contact Cell C to find out who authorized them to deduct the funds from your account. We will, for a period of 12 months, endeavour to ensure that the debit order is not debited to your account. We can do so by placing a stop payment on the debit order which will attract a charge." 1: I do not have a contract with Cell C and if FNB bothered to ask Cell C for the debit order authorisation they would see that it isn't signed by me! They should have done this in June when I first made them aware of the ***** and cancelled the June debit order due to my not authorising it. I have reversed a number of debit orders since then 2: False advertising by FNB as their radio advert claims that they investigate ***** on their customers' accounts. 3: Today I got confirmation from a Cell C employee that ***** is being committed as one of their customers has been using my FNB cheque account to finance their contract. 4: FNB charges clients for ensuring that debit orders don't go through - but at a cost to the client - FNB has allowed the ***** to continue so why should I pay? FNB surely has an obligation to look after their client's best interests!</p>

You fail to mention in your reply that the CEO's involvement has nothing to do with the good intention of any FNB staff member but my husband's absolute determination to sort this out before I have a nervous breakdown and his insisting on being able to speak to your CEO which he did! Full marks hubby - nil FNB!

It is now 2 months since FNB posted on Hello Peter that my query was being dealt with by their CEO's department. Quite correctly Jacques Celliers phoned my husband that week and was going to have the matter investigated and would revert. Guess what - not a word from FNB since then! Very poor reflection on the CEO!
