FNB Refusal to cancel policy not relevant to consumer.
FNB Loans. I don’t understand why a consumer needs to continue paying for a Customer protection plan on a loan when the benefits of the policy is not relevant to the policy holder. The policy is only valid if you have been retrenched or ‘fired’. Both these are not relevant to my situation. I have to keep on paying for a policy where the only benefit that still applies is the death benefit. FNB refuses that I replace the policy with a Life insurance policy. On a R120k loan the current policy per month is R600. I can get R3mil life insurance for that amount. The loan amount decreases but to the policy amount? The policy is not relevant to consumer but they need to still pay for it knowing they will never be able to use it. Is this Fair?
