FNB REFUSAL PROVIDE A BANK CARD UPON OPENING AN ACCOUNT
On 3 October 2024, I reached out to FNB for help in resetting my online banking password. The phone consultant informed me that my account had been closed but offered to assist in opening a new one. She efficiently helped me set up the new account and advised me to visit the nearest branch with my ID and proof of residence to finalize the process and collect my card. However, when I visited the FNB Lifestyle Centre on Lenchen Ave, Centurion, I was disappointed. A gentleman ( FNB Employee) at the door told me they couldn’t assist, stating that the telephone consultant was only "doing it for sales" by not helping me upload the documents. He imp**** that I shouldn’t have let the phone consultant open the account and that I should’ve come to the branch to do it, meaning they couldn’t help with uploading the documents or issue me a card.
Now, I’m stuck with an account but no card, as the FNB Lifestyle Centre refuses to help. It feels like FNB’s telephone and branch services are completely misaligned. How was I supposed to know who was responsible for completing the process? This experience has left me very disappointed. What am I supposed to do with this useless account that has no card for transactions?
