FNB - Random R120s
Is it possible to give 0 stars? Once again, FNB charges R120 for transactions that happened when your account didn't have enough money. Since January, I have 6 or 7 transactions of this kind. R120 each. Initially, I spoke to a consultant and they said the money has already been charged and there's nothing he can do (I still have all screenshots of this).
According to FNB, you get charged for this if you use money that is not in your account. Here's an example:
You have R500 in your account. You buy for R200 it stays as pending, and your available balance is then R300, and full balance is still R500. Then you buy something for R300. Sometime down the line, you'll get charged R120. Why? Because when the R300 goes from pending to successful, the intial R200 had charges, so your R500 is no longer R500. After all of this, your account will be at -R120. They call it an "Honoured payment" or something along those lines. How does this happen when you do not have overdraft facilities? FNB is very *****.
Why does one have to report to HelloPeter in order to get results? This has been going on since last year and I kept ignoring until put a post on HelloPeter in December. I got my refund, then it happened in Jabuary, Feb, March, April and May. I normally pay about R250+ for my account (banking fees), but last month, because I had to pay an addititional R240, my bank fees were more than R500. FNB seriously needs to respect its clients.
