FNB – R15,000 in unauthorised transactions and still unresolved after 4 months!
FNB – R15,000 in unauthorised transactions and still unresolved after 4 months!
I am extremely disappointed with FNB and the way our complaint regarding approximately R15,000 in unauthorised transactions has been handled.
The transactions occurred in May 2026. We immediately disputed them and have consistently maintained that we did not authorise these transactions. It is now September, and we are still no closer to a satisfactory resolution.
What is particularly concerning is that we have now been told that FNB supposedly sent a compensation letter to my husband for signature. We have never received this letter.
We have repeatedly asked FNB to provide us with basic documentary proof showing when, where and how this letter was sent, including the delivery method and proof of delivery. So far, we have not been provided with this evidence.
We also approached the Ombudsman for Banking Services, but unfortunately, we feel that our concerns were not properly addressed and that FNB's version of events was accepted without sufficient consideration of the fact that we have never received the alleged compensation letter.
It is incredibly frustrating to have approximately R15,000 taken from our account without our authorisation, spend months trying to get the matter resolved, and then be told that a letter was supposedly sent when there is no evidence provided to us that we ever received it.
Four months is far too long to leave a matter like this unresolved.
We are now requesting that FNB provide us with the documentary proof of the alleged compensation letter and properly address our complaint. If this cannot be resolved, we intend escalating the matter to the relevant regulatory authorities, including the FSCA, with our full correspondence and documentation.
We are not asking for anything unreasonable. We simply want FNB to properly investigate the matter, substantiate its claims and take responsibility for resolving this complaint.
FNB, we have been patient. It is now time for this matter to be taken seriously. You better call us on ***!!! This cannot go on anymore!!!!
