FNB purposely putting my account in a minus to deduct unnecessary fees
After my previous experience of FNB deducting fees from my account with no proper validation I check my account again this morning and they did it again. After putting R2500 into my account after they put my account into a minus after multiple deductions they made to my account personally and charging me a R120 fee for every time my account has been in a minus put my account into a minus again and deducted another R240 in fees to my account again as there were “insufficient funds available” I am highly shocked and scared of a bank I thought I could trust. How do you trust a bank with your money that keeps **********ly trying to take it. Now they have deducted almost R2000 in fees over the past 3 days without my acknowledgement. How is this acceptable? I don’t trust my money in my account with this bank at all. I lost all trust in this institution. I strongly advise anyone that thinks FNB is fair in their processes to rethink their choices when trying to sign up with this bank. There is nothing holding me to do business with this bank other than the fact that I need to pay off my credit card and then I’m moving over to somewhere else. Their customer service is another story, I was trying to explain to their consultant the situation and she was aggressive and rude in her approach even the patrons behind me in the queue had to witness her rude behavior. Then she just put me on the phone to deal with someone else after I asked her if I could explain the situation without her speaking over me and interrupting and then she finally understood after the fact of her being rude. Once I spoke to the customer service agent on the phone again his defenses were up too and also felt attacked by him and after I explained my situation after calming him down he understood and said he is going to escalate the matter. Why is this the type of service I have to deal with with being with a bank loyal for over 12 years? Not that I’m expecting anything besides just some offering me cooperative assistance it’s not much to ask for. Their reluctance to assist is absolutely outrageous and rude.
Besides that I logged an issue with FNB in April they only got back to me on the issue a week ago...that’s 6 months of waiting for a resolution to something simple. The initial issue was that it took them 3 weeks to get my card delivered to me that should’ve been with me within 5 working days. Again I’m not the one at fault but in that situation they were aggressive towards me, made me drive all the way to the courier company in Kilarney gardens I spent over R300 on Uber each way to tell me the card isn’t there when they assured me it was so that was another trip I had to do a week after as I had to get my card as I was going to Asia the next day and couldn’t go to a foreign country with no available funds.
I would like my money they took from me as well as the money spent on Uber that I spent having to go collect my card at their failed level of service as well as an apology because this is absolutely unacceptable to the highest extent. I’m usually a calm reasonable person but these situations are truly frightening. Even typing this I’m at a fear that my money and my account will go into another minus again and will be charged more fees. How is this acceptable behavior from a financial institution? FAIS and FICA laws that they train on is not up to standards with the ombudsman and I noticed I’m not the only one experiencing this problem but I can only speak for myself and my situations.
Good Day Shamiel
