FNB protects the *******
I am bitterly, bitterly disappointed in FNB. I had R4621.88 ****** from my account on Saturday the 23rd of December 2023. Each time I call I get told a ***** investigator will contact me - so far no such luck. Holidays notwithstanding - they have had enough time to assign an investigator - but I keep getting told to wait - turnaround is 7 to 14 days. In the branch - they tell me I could wait up to 2 months!! What are they doing in those 7 to 14 days when NO ONE from the ***** department has called me to ask me ANYTHING. The amount was taken off by Mr Price Home in Somerset West - I AM IN PRETORIA. When I first contacted them they told me it was a card swipe - this morning I'm getting told something COMPLETELY different. I WANT TO KNOW WHAT THEY ARE DOING - I DID NOT USE THIS MONEY - I WANT THE MONEY BACK IN MY ACCOUNT!
My sister is with Standard Bank - she's moving here from London to Knysna - 2 weeks after being in SA - Oct / Nov this year - 10k was ****** from her account doing online purchases. Standard bank CALLED HER and the matter was resolved in less than 72 hours.
Seems that FNB is very happy taking my money and offering me all sorts of **** which will make THEM more money - HOWEVER - when it comes to them ACTUALLY helping me - "hands in the air".
At the branch yesterday - no one could find the ****** amount on my statement - not under pending - not on amounts gone through. I was told that the ***** dept - "hides" it / freezes it - while the investigation is ongoing. This morning the amount showed under processed amounts on my statement - THANK YOU FNB!!!!!!!
I was even laughed at at the branch when I asked for documentation to take to the police - as I have already opened an affidavit - they just need bank statements. I was told opening a case is not going to help as I do not know who the perpetrator is. That would be like telling me if I was ****d - but I didnt know the culprit or didnt see his face - nothing can be done as I cant identify the culprit so there is no case.
I was ****D online via my bank account and FNBs response is slow to non - existent. When I was crying and having a minor panic attack - I was told I can cry and scream as much as I want - it wont help anything.
FNB give good motive for keeping your money in a box under your bed.
