FNB Private Clients is a joke

This was the last straw and I have now decided to switch banks so please dont bother calling. I just want to write this review for other customers that may be thinking of switching to Private Clients and wondering if its worth it. It is definitely not.

I have gone through 3 private bankers, all of whom would never be available when trying to reach them. Even when I had an emergency, I could not get anyone in Private Clients to assist and I was forced to called the Premier Desk.

Not only do they not answer but when they do they are of little assistance and have very poor commitment to clients. I had my private banker tell me to call FNB digital to sort out the issues with my app. Tell me how it helps to have a private banker if all they are going to be is a switchboard?

Further to that, every request that is sent through is met with a response "Let me know when I can call you so that I can talk you through how to do it through the online portal". I understand enabling customers, but sometimes we need you to do things on our behalf.

The last straw came yesterday where I requested a 3 month bank statement via email, AFTER trying to request on the online portal initially (I figured that was where they would send me). Online banking send me 3 different statements for 3 different months. All i requested from my private banker was 1 statement spanning 3 months and this was his reply:

Good Afternoon

Thank you for your email,

Please note that if I send you a combined three months statement from my side it will charge you R16.per statement.

Please advise if you agree with the charge.

I trust that the above is in order.

Kind Regards,
