FNB private banking is unsafe and unhelpful

Hey Guys and Fnb Private Clients FNB

I just want to share an experience to save everyone in the future from the same fate. I recently had my wallet ****** on a night out. I had my wallet ****** towards the end of the night. I awoke to some scary SMS’s coming through and quickly canceled my card. I bank with FNB private clients.

I was expecting to receive professional support through the stressful process. The service I received from them was absolutely appalling. I honestly think I had better service as a standard account holder. From not answering very important questions like “How is it possible that this person managed to draw double my card limit?” being completely ignored, to them taking more than 5 days to respond to emails like “What is the status of the ***** investigation”, and only after a follow up email from my side.

When the results from the ***** department came back they were missing almost half of the transactions and exceeded their promised turn around times of 7-10 business days. I was informed that I was liable for all of the loses as my pin had been compromised. I had not compromised my pin. They had also allowed withdrawals of funds from accounts outside of my credit account.

Lessons I have learned from this

Do not upgrade with FNB when you get the calls. It is an absolute waste of money. The service you get as a private client will upset you more than make you feel special.

FNB is not secure, ********* were able to draw money from a number of accounts from a single card, way exceeding my limits without so much as an OTP.

Just bank with someone else, Capitech is where I am headed to recoup my losses after being a FNB private client for the last 21 years, if you want a premium banking service Investec actually give you something for the extra fees
