FNB Private Banking is ******* and so are their attitudes - NEW YEAR NEW BANK!

In the last 3 years, from June 2014 to date, I have had 7 bankers. This is a serious concern for me as the service that supposed to compliment being a “Private Client” of FNB for this time has been far short of satisfactory – in fact, only 1 of the 7 bankers was committed to my needs as a customer, kept me updated timeously, promised and delivered. This is the basic requirement of a “Private Banker” yet I found myself over the years having to beg and get irate just to get some service. I was at times made to feel that they were doing me a favour and that I should wait my turn as they are on other “business meetings”, more important that mine???

In July 2016, I downgraded from Private Wealth to Private Clients as the service at Wealth was appalling – hoping to get an improved level of service and maybe if im lucky, a committed banker who will service me for a prolonged period. Sadly, 6 months and 2 bankers later at Private Clients, the service is still appalling and my bankers are still changing.

The bankers that I have had over time: Ruvashka Naik, Lukusa Kabongo, Meelan Naran, Alessio Ciocchetti, Nilesh Padiachy, Joyce Kota, Keneiloe Mashigo.

Nilesh Padiachy was not my banker then, yet he took on a query of mine resolved it and I requested that he take over my portfolio. Now that is the attitude and service expected of my banker – yet I feel that I am asking too much of FNB Private Suite. Your bankers are out of their depths and your service model is dismal.

Most recently, these are the experiences with my bankers;

14/11/2016 11:57 - I emailed my banker (Joyce Kota) for an update on a debit dispute query that has been outstanding since August 2016 where money is due to me.

14/11/2016 11:57 - I received an auto response that Joyce is no longer my banker.

24/11/2016 11:00 - sent email escalation to Ashraf Bux (Banker manager). No response!

20/12/2016 18:36 - received an email that banker changed - still await introductory call.

21/12/2016 8:28 - Emailed new banker (Keneiloe Mashigo) for assistance with short term insurance and still await her response.

Bankers refuse to give out their direct mobile numbers (please don’t bother explaining, I have heard the coached response and I believe that it is bull****). This was not the case prior, I was given my banker’s mobile numbers and never compromised this means of contact. Bankers are often not available on the 087 number and ignore emails. So how are we expected to get service?

Moreover, I personally know a private banker that goes above and beyond for his customers and is not afraid to hand out his mobile number to even contact him after hours and has exceptional feedback from his customers. Why can’t all bankers operate at this level???

I am in urgent need of a new credit card and feedback on my outstanding issue so I called my new banker’s 087 number today as she has still not responded or acknowledged a mail sent to her on 21 December 2016 and got through to a recording.

WHERE IS THE SERVICE I AM DUE AND PAYING FOR???
