FNB private banking

Paying for service that is non existent.

Changed to FNB private banking plus minus 20 months ago hoping to get financial services and advise as promised by this service.

About 8 month ago I tried getting hold of “my” private banker Elvis Mokonyama. After multiple attempts I had to find out I now have a new banker Zizi Hlongwana. After getting hold of Zizi Hlongwana se apologised and said she was going to let me know that she now takes care of portfolio.

Zizi convinced me to change my account to a private fusion. I requested what the service fees are and followed up multiple times. After 8 days I got a message of apology to say she has been off work and still no answer. 11 days later (total of 19 days) I received yet another message to say she has not been at work for 2 weeks. 7 days later (total of 26 days) received an answer on two simple question of what is my fusion over draft limit and what the service fees are. One month later I got a call to advise on the second question after I had to follow up once again.

I have sent Zizi Hlongwana a mail to express my disappointment with the level of service and the reply via WhatsApp was I must let her (Zizi Hlongwana) know if she can request a new banker for me. Not willing to deal with any challenges or simple questions that come her way.

I have asked for multiple requests to review my overdraft facility interest rate and credit card interest rates which only came down to it was declined!

The answer I got after the second request for credit card interest rate to be reviewed was that “I must remember there are clients with a very good record and multiple investments that pay more interest rate than I do, up to 30%”. First of all what does that have to do me?? Secondly what kind of advice and service is she offering to clients who invest to pay 30% on a credit card?

The experience with FNB private clients has been shocking to say the least. I cannot recommend this service to anyone.
