FNB Private Account - Not Worth It

I am downgrading my account from Private because of the *********** service of FNB's private bankers. They sell you the account with the promise that it's so convenient to have your own private banker on call when you need banking services but this is false. What they don't tell you is that your private banker won't reply to your emails and when you follow up on the emails you send you get replies that tell you what you already know. Some of the info I asked for was a direct copy and paste from their website. So you're paying extra for what you could find out easily yourself. When you ask for transactions to be done you are basically told to do it yourself on the app. Lesego Komane is my Private Banker, he should not be in this position and is giving FNB a bad name.

I requested to downgrade my account last week Friday. I still have yet to receive a reply. On Monday I resorted to messaging through the app to get help, spoke to Kaghiso Toto, but all he could do was tell me that he has forwarded my request to my private banker. Not even this prompted Lesego to reply to me. Today I get a message saying that my new card has been ordered and will be delivered. I didn't order this card nor was I informed about a new card being ordered for me. How do I know if this is ***** or not? I messaged via the app again. This time I spoke to Tshegofatso Ditshwane. Their response was that I need to contact the courier company. This is *********** service. If I didn't order a card surely FNB should investigate what went wrong on their side. Not just pass me on to the couriers.

If Lesego did order this for me why has there been no communication with me? Is this how FNB operates- keep the client in the dark? If this is true it shows how their employees value their customers.

The FNB Private Banker service is ridiculous. If you are considering upgrading to it, it is simply not worth it. It's a lot of money for functions you can far easier do yourself. If you are technologically illiterate then it will help as the only info they give you is how to use the website and app.
