FNB Premier Banking - Don't be fooled..

Interested in opening a Premier Account with FNB? Read on... I will repost this review DAILY until my issue is resolved. And I truly hope it reaches the right amount of people to hurt FNB where it counts.

Initially when I signed up for the Premier Account, I was told that A private banker will be assigned to me to take care of any banking related queries I may have.

To date I have not yet received assistance one single time from the supposed banker assigned to me. You don't have a private banker, you have a private telephone directory. Because whenever you contact them, you will be told to either go to the branch or phone the bank - if I had the time, I wouldn't be paying for your service, now would I; RB Jacobs?

I've had issues with ********** activities on my account, noticed that FNB sneaks in extra fees when I am supposed to only be paying a once of fee for my transactions, and the latest issue, is a very simple request to have a case resolved where I purchased airtime using FNB's online banking service and some of my eBucks to purchase the airtime.

I have been passed around about 20 times already and have not once been updated by anybody on the status of my call since I submitted it. It's been 10 business days and they promised to resolve the case in 5-7 - A simple case. A case that should've been resolved in minutes, not hours, days or weeks.

I am NOT receiving what I was promised, yet the banking fees are increasing again.

This bank literally stole from me and I can simply not comprehend how a basic task like purchasing airtime could take more than 10 days to be resolved.

I have recently requested pre approval for private vehicle finance, and on FNB/Wesbank's website, they promised to provide feedback within 48 hours. After begging and following up with them daily, I received a quote in nearly TWO WEEKS. And this is not due to the fact that I owed them documentation or anything. I made sure everything they requested was submitted immediately.

The vehicle I wanted to purchase was sold before they could approve my request and my "Private banker" did nothing to assist, except to phone me, and transfer my call to an incorrect department, only to have me hold on the phone for nearly an hour and be given a number for Wesbank's customer care and told to contact them - so, this banker wasted two hours of my time instead of making life a bit easier.

The vehicle I was interested in, was in excellent condition and advertised at a bargain price - a once off deal - I have not been able to find a similar deal since they responded weeks too late with their quote.

The only advantage of being a Premier banker, is having a nice silver card in your wallet. It's all smoke and mirrors.

I actually walked into a branch today, and after waiting for two consultants to finish their conversation (which took another five minutes of my time standing there in broad daylight waiting for service), the consultant could not even assist me with a simple request for a Premier Banking pamphlet.. he just stood in front of a pamphlet stand staring at the wall - I'm not sure if he was high or illiterate, but this just proves once again, that the amazing bank I joined all those years ago, has lost its shine and become just another cr ap bank like the rest of them.

Hopefully Nedbank will be a better option. I'm done with you FNB. You suck, your service sucks and your products suck. I would rather save my money under my pillow than to be a client of yours for another day.

Summary: The app and card are both "nice to haves", but that's what you will be paying for. Don't expect to receive anything more than the minimum effort from slapgat bankers.

Good Day First and Officially most Useless National Bank, Thank you for bringing this to our attention, that you have no care in the world about what I brought to your attention. We acknowledge your complaints department simply does nothing to help your paying customers. “It has been routed to the relevant department to investigate and provide resolution.” Is a nice professional way to say: “We are currently tweeting and facebooking, so please do not bother us. I understand. Feedback will not be provided EVER. You simply do not apologize for any inconvenience caused, nor do you care. You get paid a salary, and that’s all that matters.
