FNB Pre Approvals - home loans - sharpen your pencils - false inaccurate info. advised

Hi All, pls be aware of the get pre-approved option on your FNB cell phone app. It is absolute nonsense. No proper pre approval is done. I app**** for a home loan through a home loans agent last week & was informed my bank FNB had declined my application. I then went on the FNB app over the wknd & requested a home loans pre approval..since I was advised ABSA was willing to fork out R550,000 towards my home loan. And this just after ABSA have assisted with my vehice finance in September last month. I received a call this morning from an agent of FNB home loans advising that I was pre approved for a loan amount of R970,000. Prior to that I had received an sms advising that FNB was thankful to be my home loan provider & to rate their service. The agent was unable to provide an official document stating the amount I was pre approved for...since this information was a bunch of lies. The point of receiving a pre approval from your bank it to advise your affordability. FNB home loans pre approvals definitely needs to sharpen their pencils since they mislead a client with false information. Then what is the point of having 1 bank.. I have been banking with FNB since I left school but my own bank is unable to advise accurately regarding my finances. Disappointing & unprofessional.. proper calculations required or just delete the pre approval option of the FNB app. Waste of time.
