FNB poor service
FNB has delivered the worst service over quite sometime. I have started to move banks as I cannot take the level of incompetence within the organisation. On 27 November 2024 I had over R 34K in my account as I'm not sure which debit orders would be active on which account, on 28 November 2024 my account had a ZERO balance and no transactions. My balance notifications for the past week clearly shows balance and then on the thursday with no transactions it is gone. No staff member at FNB can see the problem so they cannot help. I was promised on Friday 29 November my private banker would look into the matter and keep me updated, today is Monday and still no word from him after promising he would.

03 Dec 2024, 14:35FNB still has not resolved anything, out of pocket, returned debits, debit returned charges and all this after having a sparkling credit record. Still FNB does not see any seriousness for their client. You bleed at their mercy even though it is full on an FNB mistake/problem. Even sent them proof confirming their error and the proof was data they sent to me in FEB 2024, before the proof it was the client that was wrong. This most certainly will not just be ending here. How is it legal within the financial sector framework that transactions do not show on a statement? I find it hard to belief that any of these practices are above board. Still waiting!

04 Dec 2024, 07:41Day 6 since I first reported the problem to FNB. Received a call from private banker yesterday who stipulated he will be going into a meeting and will give feedback at 11:00 am via phone call. Till now does not respond on emails or WA messages. No feedback at all. Bank sure does not know what a client is or how to treat one.

05 Dec 2024, 10:48Day 7 and still waiting. Was told yesterday that they will look into it today. Took 6 days to get to this decision. Strange how the bank wants your money in 24 hours but their own issues cannot get resolved in the same timelines.

06 Dec 2024, 11:51Day 8, received a call yesterday afternoon from product specialist stating they have just received the enquiry and will look into it. They stipulated it might take approximately 5 days!
So it took 8 days to get the query to the right department and the right department will take 5 days to potentially resolve the matter. In the interim what happens to the client? Something that is so simple potentially taking up to 13 days and counting?

09 Dec 2024, 15:01Day 11 and guess what?...........still no outcome yet....hmmm. No surprise. FNB does not have clients.....they have slaves as there was not a single moment from anyone there, that made it seem that they might be client orientated.

10 Dec 2024, 11:13Day 12 and only feedback so far is that feedback has been requested from the product management. Totally ridiculous. The client at the mercy of the bank and the bank cannot be phased about the clients issues. Time for the onbudsman.

12 Dec 2024, 09:04Day 14, received a phone call late afternoon from private banker mentioning there is a problem and they will hopefully have it sorted out by today. The issue occurred when settlement figures was requested on the account and the person who issued it changed facility thresholds, misunderstanding the request.
Lets see if it gets rectified today.

18 Dec 2024, 10:45Day 20 is now with us and no direction, banker emailed late yesterday to say they are following up with product specialist but nothing actually happens. Getting contacts for Mary Vilakazi and Harry Kellan as this needs to come to an end and requires escalation. All the best to all that might have to explain to the CEO of FNB or the Group CEO for Firstrand group.
