FNB poor service

I settled my account and received a paid up letter on the 26 March 2024. I was told that the account will be closed within 21 days.

To date, my account is still open. FNB handed the account over to a debt collector even though I already received the Paid up letter.

Every time I call FNB, I get told to to call a certain number which goes to straight to voicemail and then the call drops.

How difficult is it to just close your account?

to date, only someone from the complaints department contacted me. I was advised that someone from the aspire account/ cheque account department is going to call me to get this resolve.
I'm still waiting for that call to happen.

Today I received a statement for that specific account(that was meant to be closed already)

My question is still, Why has the account been handed over when I have already been issued with a Paid-up letter??? Luckily, I acted before the debt collector called me.

I've made numerous phone calls to FNB and No One can help me because " the account has a hard-hold' on the account. I've taken my time, effort and money to wait on the call and also went to the branch for assistance. No one can help me!!!
I don't think that what FNB has done is legal or ethical at all

Just close my cheque account!!! That's all I ask
