FNB POOR SERVICE

My account with FNB was closed in October 2016. This was done without any notification top me. I subsequently trf'd an amount of R22 000.00 to the account on 10 December 2016, no knowing that the account was closed. I tgried using my card on Monday (12 Decemebr 2016); however it was rejected. I contacted FNB on Tuesday (13 December 2016) and was told that my account was closed and card cancelled and that I needed to go to my home branch as the funds were sitting in a suspense account. I went into the branch on Tuesday (13 December 2016) after work and was told that nothing could be done as I did not have proof of residence. I phoned the branch on Wednesday (14 December 2016) and spoke to Lynette and asked if the process could be started and il bring in the Proof of address in the afternoon. I was told i had to come in and do everything and that she would be there . I went ot the barnch on Wednesday, after work at 4:45 and was assisted bY Henry. He was very helpful, scanned my documents on to the system, had me sign a dump screen, emailed Lynette with the information so I wouldn't have to come in again. There were no managers in the branch to authorise the reopening of the account so once again I was not able to get sorted out. Today I am told that the money rejected and will be paid back to my Nedbank account. An SMS was APPARENTLY sent on 12 December to advise me to activate my acc - which i did not recieve. I was told I could contact the OTP department directly to find out when the SMS was sent and if there is proof. The funds were rejected on 14 December, i did not recieve the SMS on 12 December, I went into the branch on 13 December so that I could get the funds by today as I needed to pay for something. All of this could have been avoided if FNB had sent me an SMS to advise that my account would be closed prior to closing the account - then I would not have transferred the funds to FNB. I have subsequently lost out on a deposit I paid - because I have the funds today. Furthermore when i asked for an online complaints department for FNB - I was told that that I could go to Hello Peter. The service is pathetic and I very clear that i nbeeded the funds today. Any one of the people i spoke to could have contacted the OTP department and advised them to hold the funds and assist me in making sure that I had the funds in my account by today.
