Fnb pledges double funds without authority

FNB pledges funds with no authority! I’ve had a SARS Refund at the beginning of May. Fnb reversed the payment to SARS and has now frozen or “pledged” the same amount once more as they explain they not sure if it was indeed a payment from SARS. The bank says that they will confirm with SARS and will only release once Sars confirms that they can.

My accountant has pulled my efiling profile at SARS and it shows that SARS owes me my refund again. No penalties. No audit . Only credit balance. Sars is on lockdown and I now need to "escalate " it via email. My account is in debit due to this and I am expecting a baby in 3 weeks!! I have several accounts with them and I will be sure to close my accounts one by one as soon as this issue is resolved.

I will also be laying a formal complaint with the ombudsman. Fnb did not even sms me . I only became aware when my transactions at fuel station were declined. I had to go in to the bank and they are just shrugging their shoulders. I am in limbo. Very disappointed, as I have trusted Fnb for 19 years.
