FNB PIN issues - Not the customers fault but has to be reset at their branch
On the 28th December I went to an FNB ATM to withdraw cash. I entered my PIN (the PIN linked to that cards for years without issue) and the ATM showed incorrect PIN entered. I re-entered the PIN and the same thing happened. I needed the cash to pay a casual employee, so I drove to another ATM, entered the correct PIN and again, this ATM also showed the PIN was incorrect and then blocked my card and gave me a receipt that I needed to go to a branch to unblock the card.
At that stage I was concerned that the card may have been cloned or some other *****, as I know and used the correct PIN. I then tried my Discovery Card (linked to FNB) and the PIN worked fine and luckily I could draw the cash.
I went home and spent over an hour on calls to the FNB call centre and FNB ***** department. From 16h00 to past 17h00 I spoke to Rendani and then a CS manager Radendani, who assured me the card was used for ***** and that the PIN error was from their side due to slow internet connectivity or some ATM connectivity issue. Weird that the Discovery card worked fine??
An hour of my time wasted on calls to FNB, then there was no way to re-activate the card on the App or Website, even though there are FNB voice prompts when you are waiting on the call that say you can. So on the 29th I had to go to a FNB branch, wait in a queue for another 15 minutes and then have a CS operator reinstate my card PIN with a simple "sorry for this"
FNB.... how are you dealing with your customers? I read another review on Hellopeter where the same thing happened to someone else. I've never had this issue from any other bank. How are you going to re-imburse me for my airtime, petrol and personal time wasted when this was your issue????? Time to look for a new bank !
