FNB Personal Loans Department Theft

I am absolutely livid and words of disappointment and utter disgust escape me at what has just happened on my FNB smart account. I received an sms at exactly 18:22 this evening advising me that an amount of R1785 was debited from my account for an “FNB Personal Loan Account ***01 160510”.

I do not have a debit order instruction for an FNB Personal loan to go off on this account and I absolutely have no idea why on earth a debit order would randomly go off on the 10th of the month when all of my debit orders go off either on the 25th of each month or the 1st of each month.

I do not care what the reasons are for this sudden debit order as such reasons, if they exist, were never communicated to me prior to this debit order going off today. I consider this to be THEFT on FNB’s part for the following reasons:

The amount debited is unauthorised; and

the date for the debit is unauthorised!!

FNB personal loans department failed to take an instruction from their debit order switch department when I had specifically requested that all of my debit orders move from my Nedbank Account to my new FNB account. I even signed a power of attorney authorising the debit order switch department to attend to the admin of switching my debit orders and it was to my utter shock and disappointment that a division of FNB would not accept an internal instruction from one of their own departments to switch debit orders from one account to another account. I was told that I must call the personal loans department to specifically instruct them to move the debit orders from Nedbank account to FNB account. I did not do that because that is just inefficient on FNB’s side that their departments do not work together for the convenience of clients, especially a client who is switching from one bank and coming to your bank for their services. The main reason why I even chose to open an FNB account was because of the so called convenience of the debit order switch that they undertake to do on behalf of interested clients for a smooth transition from one bank to another.

Nevertheless, I digress, my point here is that FOR THIS VERY REASON, there should have NEVER BEEN A DEBIT ORDER FOR ANY PERSONAL LOAN GOING OFF ON THIS FNB ACCOUNT!!!!!!! FNB debit orders have been going of on my Nedbank Account and therefore there is no explanation on earth that FNB can give me that now all of a sudden they decided to finally take me up on my instruction from February and debit my account on the 10th of the month! FNB helped themselves to my money and i want my money back IMMEDIATELY! furthermore, I am switching back to NEDBANK with immediate effect. Im glad that FNB has revealed itself to me now so that my salary and my bonus for this month will be safe in my Nedbak Account!
