FNB Personal Loan BAD SERVICE - CAPITEC IS WAY BETTER!!!!!!

In the 15 years that I have my account with FNB, I have never received such bad service as I have this past few weeks.

I wanted to take out a personal loan with FNB which I would have paid back in three months’ time. I have been pre-approved for a loan and when I opted for the loan, filled in the online form and submitted the form. Days went by without any response. I phoned FNB after which I was informed that I have to forward my payslips to ***. Days went by again after I send my payslips. I phoned again and the consultant informed me that thy did receive the documents and it will take another 48 Hours to be processed. I have to mention at this point that I did not have an active FNB card and every time I phoned the consultant authenticated me with security questions ONLY. After a few days of not hearing from FNB I phoned them again and the consultant insisted that I must have a card in order for her to authenticate and help me….. after a few minutes of persuading her to do the authentication without a card since I did it before, she purposefully “failed” me after I have answered all the same questions with the same answers the previous times!!! She did not want to help me at all, I could hear in her voice that it was an absolute punishment for her to be at work….. But with no surprise since we in South Africa are so use to bad service in all sectors and all industries, FNB clearly makes enough money and won’t mis my contribution every month. I told the consultant exactly what I thought of her and put down the phone, phoning immediately back again knowing that I would get through to another consultant which authenticated me without any trouble. Apparently they did not receive my payslips (Which upsets me, since I received confirmation that all documents was received) and I have to resend them, and I forwarded the original mail directly to the consultant. This time round I hold on making sure they did receive the documents. A day later I received an SMS saying I need to forward my latest tax assessment for 2019 to ***!!!!! Why on earth would you need this FNB!!!!!!!!!!!!! I’ve been banking with you for the last 15 years!!!!!!! Clearly you don’t want to do business and you are losing customers like me!!!!

I have opened a Capitec account 3 months ago. I did exactly the same with Capitec as FNB. I filled in there online form and submitted the form. Two Hours later I received a call from a Capitec consultant informing me that he would like to process my loan application and need my payslips, which I did forward to him. ONE Hour later I received a call back from the same consultant informing me that my loan was approved and we went through the Terms and Conditions and he transferred the money into my Capitec account while I was still speaking to him. No hassle, no other documents needed, NOTHING!!!!

Now FNB, How is it possible for you to not help me while I was banking with you for 15 YEARS and Capitec could help me within a few hours and I only have my Capitec Account for 3 MONTHS!!!!!!! Why all the extra hassle FNB? Why?

FNB, do you see my R105 000 cash in my savings account? No you don’t, because I have transferred it to Capitec since they are willing to help me. I am in the process of buying another house, and my Home Loan will definitely not be with FNB!!!!! I will be visiting an FNB branch to close my account very soon. NEVER, NEVER, NEVER will I EVER support FNB in any way again!!!!

I know that you won’t do anything with this complaint, because it is part of your character. But I hope more people like me will move to another bank because you don’t employ people on merits, you employ unqualified, unproductive and unprofessional people who clearly don’t give a damn about their job. They only want to receive a salary and not work for it. But like I said, South Africans are so used to it by now, we see it especially in government and big corporations like FNB.

So goodbye FNB and HELLO CAPITEC!!!!
