FNB pathetic communications!!!!

A hold was put on my account without any notification at all!!!! I was trying to pay in a shop when i discovered that i can't use my card! When i connected the bank i was informed a FICA hold was placed on my account. I understand goverment legislation but WHY could i not be informed that documents were required from me???? Before just putting a hold on my account!!!!
