FNB Overdraft

I recently discovered an issue regarding an overdraft account with FNB, which I believe warrants further attention. Initially, my understanding was that any amount utilized within my overdraft facility would automatically be debited from my account upon receiving my monthly salary. This arrangement appeared to function smoothly until FNB decided to convert the overdraft to a separate account without notifying me. The converted overdraft account was not visible to me through my standard account access, which led to an unfortunate surprise. During a visit to the bank to assess my eligibility for a home loan, I was informed of an outstanding balance of R21,000. Upon inquiry, I learned that this balance originated from my overdraft, which had accumulated from an initial amount of R13,000. This revelation was understandably distressing, as I had not been made aware of this conversion or the ongoing balance increase. Consequently, I made the decision to leave FNB and transfer my banking to another institution. However, I believe it is necessary to address this matter further to seek a resolution.
