FNB online banking needs to adapt to times.
In the middle of transaction to buy electricity on the app… it stopped to give me a notice that it’s been my 3rd attempt to put in my password, so my account has been blocked. I never had to put it in once since my facial opened my app. There was an option to reset password. I tried it. It gave me a message to say the system is not working right now I must phone the following number. I did. It was a long silly operating system with way to many options. I had to redial several times to get to an option where I got to speak to someone about my problem.
He was not to pleased to help me. Maybe he could here the annoyance in my voice but never the less, we got to the point where he told me my profile has been “soft blocked “. He could not tell me why. I asked him to help me with the steps. He said I had to go to a pc. I asked if I needed my card, he rep**** yes. And then he hang up on me. Just like that. I never got his name, he said it very quick and soft, but neither did he ever asked for mine. I tried password reset on the PC only to be told you need to go to an FNB ATM to verify this unblock. This was after I had all the details with me and put it in. I phoned backed since this was not a option. ( it’s lock down level 4 I’m trying to stay home, I have a sick daughter at home, I’m not about to travel to a FNB atm with her in the cold while COVID is rising all over).
The person Dawid I spoke to told me after many long waits and questions that he will have to refer me back to the first consultant since he left the comment on our call that he could not authenticate me and that’s why he ended the call. He never asked me any personal questions and I know he never tried to authenticate me. I was put on hold… after several minutes ( this call was on 20 minutes now already) the system operator said that this extension is racking to long to help me, so they will transfer me to the next available operator, this after David said the first guy had to help me, but in vaine, the system cut me off right there.
In total more than an hour of my day got me nowhere.
