FNB Online Banking: Failure to Resolve Complaint- Part II

After last week's review on Hellopeter in which I listed FNB's Online Banking failure, I did in fact receive a quick response from FNB on your platform. It was an apology of sorts, and a promise that somebody would contact me to resolve the issue, which has now entered the 5th week.

The next day, one of the original consultants emailed me to say she has checked my banking account, and could conform that I should be able to pay funds from my cheque account to the new fixed deposit account. Her claim was a little premature, as I discovered.

The steps she presented did not conform to reality, meaning I was unable to complete the process because the items she said I should select do not exist on FNB's menu for their online page.

Hence I repeat my earlier statement, that FNB's staff are not properly trained. It appeared as if she had merely copied and pasted the instructions from a 'help screen' without going through the process herself to see if they were viable.

So, i took several screenshots as proof of this failure, to show her the breakdown and error message and emailed it to her at the same email address to which I again received no acknowledgement.

I then tried to move funds out of my FNB account to another bank but was unable to proceed, receiving another (different) error message.

Almost 5-weeks later, I'm no further forward to having my problem resolved. The service fee I pay every month has not benefited me at all.

So, asking me to recommend FNB is an insult. I gave them 1 star as there isn't a lower rating.

Besides the stress, I have lost more than 4 weeks of interest that I should've gained had I been able to carry out my initial inter-account transfer, from cheque to fixed deposit. Shoddy service.

Are they just hoping the issue will resolve itself? Or, that I would go away and stop bothering them?

I reiterate, upon my return to CT I will be withdrawing my funds from FNB and moving to another bank. It seems 40 years of customer loyalty is meaningless today. So, I'll vote with my feet.

Thank you for this platform to air my grievance.
