FNB ***** on Banking App

I am extremely disappointed with my recent experience with First National Bank (FNB). A *****ster somehow gained access to my FNB Banking App and started transferring money from my Savings Pockets — funds that only I should have access to. The *****ster then created a virtual card and made multiple online purchases at Makro, Takealot, Woolworths Online, and Mr D Food etc, all within a short space of time.

Throughout this entire incident, FNB never contacted me via InContact or any phone call like they would usually do to verify these suspicious transactions. The bank also failed to block or flag my account despite the sudden and unusual activity.

To make matters worse, FNB is now refusing to refund my ****** money, implying that I was negligent — which I completely disagree with. I trusted FNB with my savings, and their lack of security monitoring and customer protection has left me feeling helpless and betrayed.

What frustrates me even more if the fact that the ****mer asked me to send a cardless withdrawal to my own number however I did not receive the OTP however the money was withdrawn. How? I need answers FNB. What did you do to stop the incident? Why did you not pick on the tempering of my personal, business and savings accounts?

I am demanding that FNB take accountability and return my ****** funds. No customer deserves to go through this level of distress while being treated as if they are at fault for a clear breach in security.

My ***** case number is ***. The person handling my issue is Mmalekutu Masuma and is asking me to wait 31 working days for an investigation, why when I pay monthly fees for my money to be kept safe in a bank? If you can see it is *****, why not return back the money?
