FNB now capping “international” card transaction limits for foreigners.

Firstly, it was interbank transactions not clearing properly just a week ago. And now, “international” card transaction amounts are suddenly capped without even being informed or ANY communication whatsoever. FNB is just turning into the pits to be honest!!!

I was just trying to book flights online so that I attend my friend's wedding in Bloemfontein end of this month… Then BOOM, guess what? Uhmmm, my transaction declined!!! What could it have been? Well, you guessed right, it was FNB once again!!! Apparently, my transaction failed because FNB has capped the card limits for international payments. The website I was making a booking on is "international" - as the many others that offer such booking services. However, the flight is LOCAL!!!! Cape Town to Bloemfontein.

After over 1 HOUR of numerous calls; being bounced from agent to agent with no avail (as if airtime is cheap these days), I then decided to visit my branch in person. Once again, and all in one day, I still got disappointed as I came home with no resolution to the problem!

Meanwhile, all that FNB keeps doing is hiding behind a finger for the **** service delivery they’re giving. All I was told is, “it's a NEW thing"! To make matters worse, this is just for FOREIGNERS! Is this even legal..? What's being smoked there at FNB really? Whatever it is, I’m sure it’s not ****!

I’m very infuriated with such terrible service from a bank such as FNB!
