FNB - Not the Bank for Entrepreneurs (because of Hidden Costs)

FNB is not a financial institution anymore, its commercial greed has taken over delivering sound banking services.

There was a time when FNB would post bank statements to you every month, then they gave you the option to rather receive email. A welcome change for me. Now they have decided to not send you any statements anymore. You now have to "get it yourself" because a financial institution, they are too busy cutting cost and making billions to bother delivering the most basic document for a bank account.

So, they like to use "security" as the reason. But you would think that if they stop providing a basic service, they would allow you to get it "on demand" so when you need the statements, they would be able to send it to you.

But no, they rather tell you to "get it yourself" and if you wait too long, you have to pay them for getting it. I have never heard of a business that will charge you so that they can "invoice" you for their services? Or if you request a statement, you have to pay them for it?

In my most recent interaction. I have a business account that the FNB themselves allowed to go into overdraft (+-R1500) and then was swiftly closed by FNB and handed over to a collection's agency. Now that it is closed, I cannot "get my statements myself" and have to pay FNB for them to send me the last 3 months of statements.
