FNB not allowing debit order reversals
It's such a shame and bad for FNB's reputation that we can't reverse debit orders without phoning the contact centre which takes a lot of airtime and even ending up being told that you can't reverse a debit order because I need to phone the company directly and ask them to bring the money back. FNB is our bank and it should be protecting us as its customers and it should be taking instructions from us about what we want to do with our money, and not protect third parties. But it's not like that at all. Other banks, like Std Bank, there's no huddles with reversing debit orders, no matter what the time, regardless of the amount - all instant. But here at FNB, we are left with no choice but be told that you can't reverse a debit order even though in my case I have already made an EFT payment to Telkom and the debit order went off for the same amount of R919.40 (which is the debit order that I want to reverse) but FNB won’t let you do that. It’s such a shame really.
