FNB #norealhelp
I tracked the SAFT fund from the minute it was announced and knew that I wanted to take that loan out for my staff. It would be the lifeline I needed to be able to assist them over the hump. I managed to find out that the loan would go through the big banks. However there was nothing on the FNB website that clearly said apply for SAFT here. As such I consulted my business banker and she advised that one would need to do the business financial analysis form on the COVID-19 page. I app**** on the 5th of April. I heard nothing. Finally on 16 April I got the good news: "We have assessed your information and you meet the criteria for the South African Future Trust (SAFT) funding that was established by the Oppenheimer family. " All that was needed now they said was to fill your employee details - it will be used to populate the agreement that will be sent to you. I got my reference and have waited for the loan agreement to be sent to me since then. Nothing has arrived. I have followed up numerous times with my business banker. I have only ever banked with FNB and I feel completely rudderless. No support. My business banker reverted once on this issue and has never reverted again. I have sent numerous messages to FNB Care and FNB Business Care and no one has reverted. Every message from FNB says they will revert within 24 hours. There have no reverts and no loan agreement sent. I feel like I am banking with a computer. Nobody has been in touch. I have tried calling my banker and emailing and nobody reverts. Today I called the Business Banking line - the person who answered had a terrible line - he says as far as he knows there are no more funds left in the SAFT loan. I am distressed - I have told my staff that they will be getting the funds based on the FNB mail. He said he would ask someone from SAFT to get in touch. No one has reverted to any of my at least 50 mails in the last two weeks. FNB - you have lost my faith. I cannot believe you have dropped the ball on me so badly. Surely if I got that email then I have got the funds allocated to me. I am badly in distress. As a bank you have let me down badly. I have only banked with one bank all of my life for my personal and my business. Banking is all about trust and relationships.
