FNB – nonexistent customer service
I am not a person who tries to solve my problems in public, always internally with the institution involved, but you will agree that in this case I have exhausted all the avenues provided by FNB. This is my story – lasting for a period of one full year – with no resolution yet. I have five different bank accounts with FNB used for different affiliated companies. Around May 2024 I have app**** for a facility for one of them at Charlotte Nkosi of the Hatfield FNB branch. I have been informed that my application was declined for two or three minimal reasons. Since then, we have removed all of the possible objections. I then waited five months and app**** again in September 2024 – this time with a plethora of documents to substantiate my application. Since then, I have received no reply to my request. In the next six months I have sent 15 emails to Charlotte to follow up on my request – on 30 September; 18 October; 5, 7, 15, 21 and 29 November; 6, 7 and 10 December; 1 January 2025; 3 February; 28 and 31 March and 7 April. All the time receiving without any definite reply. I decided to take more drastic action and made an appointment on 11 April with Charlotte Nkosi to resolve any issues and to expedite the application process. I then sent repeated emails on 11, 16 and 23 April. This time I didn’t even receive a response to any of my emails. I then called another FNB banker and asked what I must do to solve this problem internally. I was informed to use the FNB App to resolve the problem. I did so on 5 May. On the same day I interacted with six FNB employees to resolve the issue – Katlego, Potsho, Lenaya, Thusani, Merementsi and Given. Apart from receiving generic responses generated by a computer, none of them rep**** to my request. One of them promised that someone will be allocated to contact me about my complaint. To date nobody of FNB contacted me about the problem. How do I take it further? Do I close my accounts with FNB and move it to another institution? Will I receive better treatment at another institution? I am afraid that customer service is non-existent at FNB and it seems that they don’t mind at all to lose customers as a result of their negligence.
