FNB - NO answers, NO help, but more then happy to take you money!!

On the 30th August I was contacted by Lucas from the Sales Department at FNB about increasing my credit limit, which would bring my interest rate down. I agreed to this, as at the time it seemed to make sense. A few days later I was contacted to say that "my new Credit Card" would be delivered to me in the next few days, which confused me, as I hadn't requested a new card. On the arrival of my card, I noticed it was a Gold credit card and not a Platinum credit card that I originally had had. I contacted FNB to ask why I now had a Gold credit card where as previously I had been on Platinum. I managed to resolve this issue after much frustration and a huge amount of to-ing and frow-ing, and SEVERAL follow up phone calls.

Then last week I received an SMS to inform me of my outstanding credit card balance and I happened to notice that my interest rate is 19%... This was my ORIGINAL interest rate and NOT the new rate I had been promise by Lucas. I contacted FNB about this last Thursday (the 22nd of September) and I was PROMISED that someone would get back to me with in 48 “working hours”, which should have been Monday, but of course I heard nothing. This morning I have now received an email to state that my credit increase and interest rate decrease had been DECLINED, which I found VERY ODD, as I did not initially request this increase, but was rather contacted by FNB about it. After receiving this email I contacted the number at the bottom of the email to try and sort this month-long saga out, only to be told I was dealing with the wrong department, I was then put through to Sales, who then informed me that they were the wrong department, and I needed to talk to Credit Queries, who I then called, only to be put BACK to Sales, who again told me I was dealing with the incorrect department. I was bounced from no less than 6 DIFFERENT people at FNB this morning and I STILL don't have any answers, nor has anyone actually offered to assist me in finding out the root of this issue.

All I can wonder is how can I be offered something that I clearly was not approved for... Or was this just ANOTHER sales tactic of FNB, to squeeze me for MORE money, over and above the the exorbitant fees I already pay for services that I am CLEARLY NOT RECEIVING!
