FNB NETWORK/CONTRACT - ABSOLUTELY PATHETIC!

I have a contracted Smart Device which I have had for 5 months. As of the 30th January my phone/network lost all of its connectivity that being calls, sms’s, internet etc. and has an error reporting that FNB is unavailable Emergency calls allowed only (please see below). I have tried EVERYTHING, I have tried to connect to Vodacom, I have chosen to automatically select networks, I have switched on my roaming, I have reset my network settings, I have actually gone as far as resetting my phone to factory default.

Nothing has worked, I have been in constant contact with FNB Connect Sim centre – several times a a day I have been calling for assistance, they have not helped in any way -they pass the buck between different departments, they take down incorrect information and they actually try contact me on the number that is out of service! like are you SERIOUS?!

By their instruction I have performed 2 sim swops, and to no avail the problem remains.

I called the device centre today for some assistance as I was getting NOWHERE with FNB Connect, and was advised that my phone is currently SIM locked and not necessarily NETWORK locked, so the sim swop I had performed cancelled my original sim card, my original sim card was thrown away after my first sim swop therefore because of FNB’s instruction I am currently stuck with a device I cannot use because my SIM card wont be accepted in this phone.

I want to cancel my NETWORK, and pay for my device - but the consultants are so robotic and non coherent where anything out of the norm is requested... 'no ma'am we can only give you an unlock code if you cancel your contract and pay up your device' - are you kidding me?! i wouldn't need a cancellation if FNB had provided an effective service!!!

I am requesting an unlock code so that i can use my device with a NON FNB SIM CARD - which i am paying for without paying up any penalties for my device – you understand this is absolutely not my fault, I should absolutely in no way have to pay anything to receive the unlock code. Simply because I had no issue paying for my contract that WORKED month to month – my product is defective therefore it is the responsibility of FNB to fix this problem and not mine! I should in no way be liable for any payment simply because the service provider has failed to provide the service that was promised!

I have a defective product and it has been less than 6 months that I have had this contract, February should not be taken into account as I have been reporting fault since 30th January my ref number is 157557 and I have NO USE of my network since the 30th January!! can you ever?!

According to National Consumer Protection Act I have 6 months to cancel / return any defective product without penalty. However I do not want to cancel or return my device, my device works perfectly via wifi connection, therefore its not a fault of the device but of the network.

so tell me how you will fox this FNB?!
