FNB Negligence caused negative credit report!!!!!

I went into the bank to inquire about how the over draft system works and if I qualify whereby I was informed that I do not but that I could rather qualify for a personal loan of R26 000 to consolidate my debt. I said I would first think about it. I was asked to get settlement letters etc, its such a long story I don't have time to even type all the ****! the long and the short is that I had a temporary loan open on my account and when the sales consultant reapp**** 3 times after that they affected by credit score negatively causing the loan amount to be less than half the first time round:
1. R26 000 loan and payback R1400
2. R14 000 loan and payback R1100
How is that possible and my credit score has been affected negatively and they are just saying sorry that it is unfortunate but there is nothing they can do about it!!! Why did they reapply for the loan if they could see I had a temporary loan on my account open and that I would only qualify afterwards, why was I not informed of this before, If I was informed of this I would never ever have tried to apply, I am disgusted by this, it is almost Christmas and they have caused me even more financial strain! I am done!
