FNB Negligance
The below review was written in 2021 when i was coming off debt review, I have had no dealings with FNB since and expected all accounts to be closed off at this point. Now 4 years later i am receiving mails from Revco advising that my account is in arrears and there is an outstanding amount of 3000 odd rands. I sent an email to this Revco department and received no response however today I receive the below mail.
FNB-CHEQUE Account *********2614 - Despite our best efforts, your arrear account remains unresolved. Urgently reach out to Revco within 48 hours to avoid added costs and interest accruing on the account. Take charge of your financial well-being by simply contacting us today. Contact Revco on 011******xx
Honestly how am i faulted if the account was not closed 4 years ago or why was this not brought up at the time.
Debt Review Centre negligence I have settled my cheques account in May 2020 with FNB. When my debt counsellor requested the paid in full letter this January 2021, I was told that the cheque account has an outstanding balance as interest increases on a daily basis. I contacted the FNB debt review centre and was told that I need to go into a branch and make payment and request the account to be closed off.
I went into the Rosebank branch on 1 February 2021 and made the payment of R400 as asked by the consultant that I was dealing with. The consultant confirmed that she received the R400 and advised that she will mail the debt review centre to close the account which she did in front of me.
Now when my debt counsellor contacted FNB for the paid up letter I am told that I owe an additional amount and the account has not been closed.
I am NOT GOING TO PAY ANY ADDITIONAL AMOUNT BASED ON THE NEGLIGANCE OF FNB's DEBT REVIEW TEAM, I WANT THIS ACCOUNT CLOSED.
Regards,
