FNB NEGLET TO SIGN OVER SURETY
I sold my business as a going concern. I signed surety for the overdraft. Upon selling the business the new owner signed over the account to his name and the bank had drawn up the documents for the new surety, the bank neglected to have him sign the surety and he traded for about 2 years. He then stopped servicing the account. Suddenly the bank told me I am still liable for he outstanding amount. R 1 500 000. Surly FNB is wrong and it was negligence on their side. Absolutely wrong on their side. Got the ombudsman now involved .
Good Day Johannes Louw .
