FNB navCar Motor Vehicle Licence Disc Renewal Penalty Fee - WARNING

Please be advised when renewing your motor vehicle licence disc through the navCar feature on the FNB app, that FNB charges an additional R50 penalty fee above the advertised renewal fee of R69. This penalty fee is charged when renewing your licence disc after the expiration date, even if you are still applying within the 21-day grace period set out by the Department of Transport. When using this feature, you are only informed about the penalty fee once the transaction has been made, with no prior breakdown of the costs provided on the app before purchase. The only hidden mention regarding this penalty fee is located under FAQ, with FNB indicating that the fee is charged prior to renewal in the event that the Renewal Authority charges FNB a late penalty fee (even though you app**** within the 21-day grace period and know for a fact that the Renewal Authority does not charge any late penalty fees within this period). Additionally, also hidden away under FAQ, FNB indicates that they will refund the penalty fee if they find that the Renewal Authority did not charge this late penalty fee. It has been a month since my licence renewal, and I am still struggling to get this matter resolved and the penalty fee refunded to my account. I have also verified on the Renewal Authority website that indeed no penalty fee was charged to my account. I have been following up with FNB/navOperations Client Experience Ambassador on a weekly basis, however, all e-mails on this matter are being ignored. I am quite disappointed in the lack of communication and transparency on FNB's behalf and would not recommend using this service.
