FNB Name and shame.....
Dear FNB.
I must say i am typing this with a heavy heart, being a loyal customer for more than 17 years I think it has finally reached a point where me as a customer can no longer take the level of service I received in the last couple of months.
I currently support most of the products or services you have to offer including . Home loan , Cheque account , credit card, life cover , car finance , ebucks etc. and with all my years i have never missed a payment or had any default or judgments listed against my name.
Things started getting sour a few months ago when I started the process of selling my property bonded with FNB... Long story short the sale was delayed by the bad customer service by FNB of the new buyer and I ended up being without a tenant for a month until the sale eventually registered ( NO RENT INCOME FOR THE PERIOD!!!!!) . I though i would give FNB a call and explain the situation to maybe arrange for a payment break to which i got a very rude response of no payment breaks/arrangements can be made. Which i understood but the manner of how the situation was handled was very disrespectful and unprofessional. . Being the good customer i am i did pay the bond on time as per the contract ( 25th of April 2018) seeing that no arrangement could be made until the sale goes through. Fast forward a bit to the actual time of registration to the new owner 23rd of May 2018, FNB did not process the debit order on the 25th of May as the bond was settled. It turns out that FNB actually owes me money now as the bond was paid as per a settlement amount provided a couple of months ago and i have subsequently still paid the bond making the outstanding amount less than the settled amount.
After a brief discussion with someone at the your home loans division today the lady made me aware that this refund will only be processed in 41 DAYS because its a risk(seen as a safety deposit for FNB ) that i might potentially reverse a debit order processed on the 25th of April in which case FNB will not be able to recover the balance from me........... Firstly how will one as a FNB customer be able to reverse a debit order(the last debit order was 25th of April) that deducted more than 40 days ago ??? Secondly , why must i as a customer wait 41 days for funds that is legally mine to be refunded only 41 days after the bond has been paid off??? , Thirdly as instructed by your consultant the funds held by FNB will not be gaining interest, but YOU as FNB will charge interest for every hour funds is owed to you...
I am sure FNB will have blacklisted me if a payment was 41 days late . I am sure you wouldn't even think twice to get a judgment against my credit record.. If FNB can not understand and respect or even care to listen to my situation then why should I.
So here i am asking why must i not do the same....
