FNB Moruleng,FNB Northam and FNB Life
This is to FNB heads who are sitting in airconditioned offices and looking at how to ***** the poor in the rural areas.I will give you a solution to my story at the end.
This is due to the pathetic service from your Northam and Moruleng branches. Firstly I went into your Northam branch on one Saturday a while ago with a request to change mandates on a business account and I was told that they do not change mandates (adding my business partner as signatory) on Saturdays and an appointment had to be made for that. The lady (I could not get her name because she was not wearing a name tag) was not even interested that I drove all the way to that side so that I could meet with my business partner that side since he was working that side.I requested to speak to the manager and was told he/she was not available. She refused to give the manager's name. I lodged a complaint on FNB's online platform and I am still waiting for a response. We closed the account post to that incident.
Secondly, the incompetence of staff at Moruleng branch, towards the end of February a request was initiated to stop and reverse a R99 debit orders that were going through an account. On the 22nd March a message saying that an FNB funeral plan debit order was unable to go through because the debit order was stopped. The consultant went and restrained all the debit orders from the account.Another trip on a Saturday to the bank that costs R80 in taxi fares. After waiting for a while with only 2 consultants working, your fancy Qman system called number 9. The first question asked was where the consultant who created the mess was, the response was that he was not available. The issue was explained to the consultant who was busy at the same time replying to emails whilst she was supposed to be listening. She said she cannot remove the restraint and called FNB Life.Another minutes wasted while holding for someone to answer the call. After speaking to someone at FNB Life and answering generic security questions was told that everything will be sorted. We requested for something in writing to assure that this problem was sorted. The consultant said their word must be taken for it. I also requested to speak to the manager and was told she was not at work and the second in charge was busy with ATM's and will not be able to talk to me.Below are my question: - Do FNB branches have different service levels compared to urban areas and does your employees in rural areas think they are doing customers a favour by assisting them? -Do your branches ever have a managers on a Saturday? -If the branch was able to add the restraint on the debit order, why did they not remove it instead of requesting FNB Life? Just when I thought the drama was over I receive a call from the so called manager from Moruleng branch saying that the matter has been sorted and I need not to be worried, 24 hours after that I receive a call from FNB Life asking me the same generic security questions and I was told if I cannot give the correct answers I need to go into a branch. That is another trip worth R80 for ***** sake. Here is my solution to First National Bank
-Stop focusing your services on the underprivileged since they do not deserve to be treated as customers by you. -Close all your rural branches as they seem to be useless and they cannot seem to be able to serve their purpose. -Start realising that not everyone in the rural community is illiterate, you will be exposed. I am very certain that this will be the least of your worries as you have more important clients to attend to however be warned. I am going to make it my mission that you are exposed. Remember David and Goliath
