FNB - morgage loan sharks. Will lie and sugercosat to get your business

Please watch out for FNB home loans - they are dishonest and wont give you the so called customer recordings when you request them. The Story - So I return to South Africa and want to buy a house. I find a fixer-upper house which need some renovations. FNB says yes we can organize a bond with future cash option. All you have to do is pay your mortgage for six months and the money is can be released. This is stated on the contract. I am cagey, as if I dont get the money I will be sitting with a house with broken doors, cupboards, house leaks etc etc. This is important - I would not have purchased the house or taken the bond withot the future renovation cash. I phoned SEVERAL times and have long probing conversations that this will defintely happen after six months, Anyway six months comes and goes, I ask for the renovation money - which is on my conttact and get flatly refused. I asked for the phone recordings several times - just promises They never phone back nor provide it. For me this is bait and switch. Under false pretences they promise you items to get your business. I also asked if the house was valued with enough capital value to warrant the future cash amount, FNB said yes absolutely. So now I am left with a house, which I would never have bought and am left with a fixer upper I am unable to fix. In order to remedy the situation I switched bonds to another bank who indeed honor their commitments. I had to spend considerable money to move to the other bond. I also find out, that what they DONT tell you is that when they give you the extra money they increase the interest rate significantly. and not just on the extra monies, but on the WHOLE bond. This was not explained upfront... FNB, this kind of action is ********** and stressful. I was a private wealth customer of yours. I have now moved my bond and closed my account with you, Good luck for life. If I had known you were a dishonest car salesman type of operation I would never have bothered. Please South Africans, do not trust FNB, period.
