FNB Mobile Device

Last month in October, I wrote a review based on my mobilde device issues I had before. The first instance pertained to the Fnb Gold Mobile Device phone that got a screen crack, it also had faulty speaker issues just after two weeks. The phone was never dropped, it was in my pocket (NOT the back pocket) and the screen cracked badly. No phone I've ever had did such a thing. I took it to WeFixit and they took forever to get the job done (Over two months) . I complained to FNB and they decided to replace it with a new device. Kudos to them I changed my review and perception about their brand to excellent- it was indeed customer value.

However, I've come to realise that there just happens to be a major problem with their mobile devices. The same replaced Gold Mobile Device got cracked while in my side pocket on Sunday. It hasn't even lasted a month. I thought there was something off with the feather lightweight feel it has. It's really a light phone and now I see why the screens crack so easily under normal circustances. The crack isn't as major as the first one, but it has stopped the phone from its responsive scrolling and selection as it doesn't open when I try to swipe the unlcok feature. Obviously it's affected. These phones are pathetic and weak. My colleagues keep asking me about my experience and if they should get one for themselves. I obviously cannot recommend the phone. While I'm being debited for this I'm starting to ask myself where I'm getting value for my money here. I've never enjoyed any benefits of entering into an FNB Gold Mobile Device contract for longer than a month. This is disappointing.

I would like to note your reply and follow-up on the matter. I got a call from one of your consultants she offered me an upgraded exchange from the FNB Gold mobile to ConeXis which she is apparently better than the Gold smart phone. It's also apparent that the Gold smart phone devices were problematic which is why they are discontinued.
So here's the problem, the upgrade will cost me R215 more, costing a total of R315 than what was sold to me that made me join the mobile contract to begin with. Why was I then allowed to sign up for a phone that was known to have technical issues to begin with and discontinued? Where do I go from here, I'm stuk with a phone that is not working and wasting my hard earned money. The consultant said she would call back after looking into the matter from her manager, I'm still waiting.
I went to a WeFIX store today which used to be the only store authorised to fix FNB phones and they said they don't do business with FNB anymore because FNB didnt give them stock in time. WeFix waited for months for FNB to give them stock. Therefore customers waited for their phones for 4-6 months and that made WeFix look bad for business. Now that I have the story from their side, I'm appalled! Now I see why my first issue I had with you was when the phone took 3 months before I threatened to cancel my account with you and you issued a new model for me. Okay, so where to from here now that I'm caught up in the middle of this mess?
