FNB mistake and I have to pay for it!
In 2016 I was put under debt review because of a mistake Debt rescue made by adding my ID number to another persons debt review application. FNB immediately removed my overdraft and credit facilities. I had to try and find out why this happened and collect all the proof and send it through to FNB debt department before my overdraft and credit facilities were reinstated. This took at least a week. Now, I had the misfortune of the same thing happening again and it is the same mistake! I had to try and find out yet again why this happened and logged two separate complaints on the FNB website. I explained what happened in detail and contacted FNB debt department as well. I was called the next week and told that the problem would be fixed. My credit facilities were reinstated for 2 days and last night when I went online again, it was removed. Again! This is unacceptable. I contacted the debt department again this morning and was told that they are still busy with the problem. It’s been 2 weeks and I am nowhere near a solution. I have to spend my time trying to find proof that it was an error when the bank didn’t bother to check the ID number and applicants name. If this is the way FNB reacts to their mistake I will be better of changing banks. Without my knowledge or without notification from FNB my card was declined several times and I was left embarrassed.
