FNB Misleading Clients
I am compelled to express my frustration with FNB's handling of my banking needs. My experience with the Easy Account, which had a monthly fee of R56 and operated on a pay-as-you-use basis, was satisfactory. However, after being convinced to upgrade to an Aspire account with a fee freeze for three months, I discovered that I was being charged more than anticipated. The fees included card fees, service fees, and account fees, which I had not agreed to. Despite expectations of a flat fee of R120 for using FNB's Aspire account with benefits, I incurred charges amounting to approximately +-R400 monthly. Furthermore, I was charged declined purchase fees for transactions not conducted using the bank card. After prolonged complaints, a consultant informed me that account fees would be reversed because they can see notes left when the account was upgraded advising of the fee freeze. I now request a refund of the service fees, card fees which I understood to be part of the account benefits and I would like my old account back. In February you charged me R24 card fees, R120 account fee and R121,60 service fees. In March you charged me R24 card fees, R302,76 and R120 account fee. In April I stopped using the account after noticing the fees and for this month I was only charged R24 card fees and R120 account fee. The promised fee freeze was never actioned.
