FNB MAY BE UNDER FINANCIAL DISTRESS - FOLLOW-UP

On 29-May after a terrible experience with regards to my experience with a re-advance application on bonds, I logged a complaint here - https://www.hellopeter.com/first-national-bank/reviews/fnb-may-be-under-financial-distress-*** So it's been almost 3 weeks now since my complaint and here's what's happened since then: The matter was referred to their Homeloans complaint division to attend to. Shortly thereafter I received updated quotes. The whopping service fee on the one bond was reduced from R230pm to R69pm - in line with the other one but still much higher than the current service fees. As for the interest rate, it was only reduced by 0.2% from 10.75% to 10.55% on the one bond. No feedback on the other bond just yet. Naturally I wasn't satisfied as it was still 1.25% higher than the current rate of 9.3%. So again it was escalated to be reviewed. Another two weeks passed due to internal issues they were having with scoring and today, after I again called up to complain about the delay I get further adjusted quotes. On the one bond they reduced it by a further 0.15%, so the offered rate is now 10.4% which is 1.1% higher than the current rate. On the other bond they reduced it by only 0.15% offering 10.5% which is 1.4% higher than the current rate of 9.1%. Still not acceptable as this makes a massive difference in the installment. In addition to this, I initially requested that the terms on the bonds remain as is as we've already paid off 10yrs of the debt. They came back insisting that it be reset to 20yrs. Today, upon receipt of the amended quote I noticed the term is the current term so when I queried it, I'm told that it can be reset to 20yrs, but the interest rate will be amended too. I'm dumbstruck and in awe of the incompetence. I am beyond fedup with these guys. This entire ordeal with FNB is at the top of worst experiences I've encountered. I truly feel like a victim who's being held for ransom - there's nothing more one can do but make people aware of this. I truly hope their CEO, Mr Jacques Celliers gets an opportunity to see this.
