FNB making money from the innocent!

On Saturday 31 March I wanted to withdraw money at an ATM in Sunnyridge. The ATM swallowed my card, but as a security measure I was not aware of the ATM automatically cancelled my card. I called the contact number displayed on the ATM and spoke to a call centre lady, Thumi, and asked her to cancel my gold card. Because I have 2 savings accounts I still made very sure she knew which one to cancel, but when I got home and checked my accounts I saw she cancelled the wrong card so I now had 2 cards that were cancelled.

I went to the Bedfordview branch on Saturday 7 April and spoke to a lady there and explained to her that I am not prepared to pay for either of these 2 cards as it wasn't my fault they were cancelled in the first place. She then said in that case she can't assist me. She said it costs R90 p card. So in the end I didn't have much choice in the matter and proceeded getting the 2 new cards.

Now I see FNB charged me R140 PER card! So I spent R280 because of FNB's useless staff and ATMs and they don't accept ANY fault on their side? How is that customer service? I can still understand if you are at fault and need to pay to replace a card but in this instance NONE of it was my fault but I get left with the expense...

This is truly bad customer service in my eyes and I will tell all my friends and family that FNB doesn't care about their clients and are only in it for money. I am really disappointed in FNB.
