FNB MAKES RIGHT

I had numerous debit orders that just would not accept cancellation after the enforced house arrests last year strangled my business. As a responsible adult, I canceled all my debit orders to protect the smaller income I managed to drum up. The current debit order system is loaded in favour of the companies that utilise them, as they can change the last digit of their claim and the bank system allows it to go through. If there is insufficient funds in your account, the bank penalizes you with an 'unpaid item' fee that is sometimes higher than the debit order amount. This process affects your credit score negatively. In spite of letters and phone calls, the process can continue for 6 months or more. I actively began reducing my expenses in July 2020, as it became apparent that the governments worldwide were going to continue their unconstitutional regulations indefinitely. But the debit order and bank fees continued, in spite of having informed everyone that I had revoked all authorizations. This culminated in a sizeable waste of funds, in regardless of my efforts to prevent it. One young man at FNB took my complaint seriously, after seeing the evidence of my monthly effort to put an end to the ***** of withdrawing payments by companies, after notifying them that I had revoked my authorisation. Nice letters don't work! Only after threatening to charge them with *****, did they begin to take notice. I had a strong small business that I was building up before March 2020, and to be penalized with bank fees on top of suddenly having no income whatsoever, was the final straw. Thank you Jason. For one of the few times during this 21st century worldwide threat to survival, my account actually had a small credit balance! The banks need to change their rules to protect their customers, NOT third parties, when it comes to debit orders. I will never again authorize this method of payment. If a company wants my business, they will have to accept manual payments, or I will find one that will. I can live without insurance, but they can't survive without clients!
