FNB “lost” a branch and they don’t know about it.

When I went to my closest FNB branch in Main Rd Somerset West, it was gone. All the ATM’s removed, the doors locked, so signs explaining what happened. After much telephoning and looking at websites I eventually was able to talk to a lady and posed the question to her. She put me thought to a “Branch locator section”, where I was assured that only the FNB at Somerset Mall showed up their system (the head office mind you), and speculated that the branch may be under renovation. Well, then surely there would have been a big sign explaining what was happening. One could also have speculated that the branch was invaded by aliens. I was not interested in speculation, but only facts. It evidently inconveniences many clients, but FNB knows nothing about the missing branch!! Ironically, I wanted to move funds from another bank to FNB. What a joke! But then I remembered that we are dealing with banking in South Africa. Prof W Richter ***.
