FNB Loan Application

I tried applying for a quick "emergency" loan when my cat fell severely ill and I needed to pay for the vet bill and had no other option. Firstly, don't fall for the wording - it's not quick at all neither can it be re**** on for an emergency. They start off by sending a vague text saying that they require additional information with a number to call that does not work. So you call their customer services line to get through to the loans department instead, in which you'll spend about R100 airtime just on that one call alone.

Anyway, when eventually I got hold of somebody, they told me they needed my CONTRACT OF EMPLOYMENT. Not Confirmation of Employment - no, no - CONTRACT OF EMPLOYMENT. Okay, fine - I send it. They get back to me and tell me that I've made alterations to my contract. What the heck? They need the contract without alterations. For context, the alterations was where we had to write our start date, our position and name and ID number as per our HR department when we signed our contract. That wasn't good enough.

Next lady tells me, no I need to send confirmation of employment. So I do that. Nope, get another text to say there's outstanding info. Call again. Another R100 airtime. The next lady tells me I have to write my ID number in pen on the employment letter - so much for no alterations. Okay, so I do that. FINALLY, it's sent off for verification, hurray!... That was on Friday.

Come Monday, I get another text to say they need additional information. Fine, I call again - maybe they need wage slips or something to support my confirmation of employment, right? WRONG!! They needed my contract of employment without alterations. I told them to cancel the application. What a headache. Don't waste your time.
